The quakes quivered the border of Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces at 11:19 Beijing
time. The two strongest quakes were measured at 5.6 magnitude by The US
Geological Survey. Local officials have confirmed that all deaths were from Yiliang
County of Yunnan Province. The occurrences have left more than 43 people dead and
150 injured, while thousands have been evacuated. Meanwhile, at least 20,000 were
damaged among other losses.
