California Wildfire Threatened Thousands of Homes
The wildfire in southern California has already destroyed three structures and blackened some three square miles of forest land near Sequoia National Park and threatening 1,000 more homes on May 16. More than 1,100 firefighters were battling the fire. The flames jumped containment lines on May 14, fueled by high winds and dry brush. No injuries have been reported from the blaze. So far three homes have been burned to the ground and another was damaged.
