Flood
A week before Christmas in 2010, a torrential rain struck Queensland State, Australia, triggering floods that drove thousands of people away from home. Ever since the outbreak of the disaster, the hazard had increased, influencing almost the entire Queensland State. Up to January 18th, 2011, over 3,500 residents from across the north and east part of Victoria Province had been evacuated. In the Queensland region only, the devastating flood has caused a toll of 30 and 12 missing, submerging approximately 30,000 properties and causing losses up to 500 million dollars.
