Indonesia Struck by a 6.6-magnitude Earthquake

An earthquake, measured at the magnitude of 6.6, struck Palu City on the Indonesian
island of Sulawesi Saturday (Aug. 18). The temblor triggered landslides that cut off
residents in rural Indonesia, and helicopters were sent to drop food and water
Monday the 20th. During the tremor, More than 450 homes and building were
destroyed; and about 6 were killed. Rescuers have been striving to several villages
cut off by landslides; meanwhile, teams from disaster management, health, and
welfare have been involved to provide emergency assistance.
