A magnitude 6.7 earthquake Hit in Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture on November 22, 2014. Its depth was 5 km. The affected areas included the city of Nagano, the prefectural capital, and the ski-resort village of Hakuba.

41 people were injured, 7 of whom were severely injured. In Otari and Hakuba, 34 houses collapsed. 20 houses were severely damaged. More than 100 houses had no water. Till November 23, 2014, there were 53 aftershocks after the quake.
