Mid-West US Braced for Tornado Threats

Regions of upper Mississippi Valley braced for severe weather Sunday Evening. As of 10 p.m. CT, the Storm Prediction Center of National Weather Service had received 10 reports of tornadoes on Sunday, April 15. Tornado watches were in effect through 11 p.m. CT; by then, 5 people had already been killed in a twister. According to the National Weather Service, affected states included Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Arkansas. The watch then extended through midnight in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas. As the service’s Storm Prediction Center had warned that several tornadoes may make landfall, there have been no such reports up until 5 p.m. in Minnesota State, where three of the reported twisters occurred.
