Massive thunderstorms moved through the northeastern region of the United States
earlier this week, causing power cut-off in several areas including states of Illinois
and Michigan. Around 390,000 people in the greater Chicago area were without
power early Tuesday while another 96,000 across Michigan went through the same
situation a day earlier. According to the local utility company, full restoration may
take days to complete.
So far the storms have caused one death in the Kent County, Michigan while no other
major devastation was reported.
