Torrential Rain Caused Casualties in Southern China

Several occurrences of torrential rains had struck Southern China since mid-June,
2011 and triggered compound disasters such as floods, landslides, and debris flows in
the downstream areas of Changjiang River.
The hazards have affected millions of residents in the south and have caused
economic losses around 12.85 billion RMB.
Up to now, over 670 thousand people have been evacuated from the affected areas.
