Tropical Storm Arlene Threatened Mexico

Arlene is the first named storm of the 2011 hurricane season (spanning from June to
November) and was reported lumbering across Mexico Thursday the 30th. The
possibility of torrential rains and flash floods still threatens several parts of the
country, according to the authorities. Forecasters from the National Hurricane Center
has warned of flash floods and mudslides possibly triggered by the storm. Currently
precautions have been taken in the southern part of Tamaulipas State, where it’s
expected to stand the greatest impact. Meanwhile, evacuation has also been taken into
consideration as the storm advances.
