Typhoon Usagi Struck Southern Taiwan and China
Heavy rainfall made by Typhoon Usagi throughout Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. It made landfall in southern China where left 25 deadand caused chaosacross Hong Kong, throwing flight schedules into disarray and bringing flooding to some areas.More than 80,000 people were moved to safety in Fujian province and the authorities have deployedat least 50,000 relief workers. Power supplies in many parts of the province and in Guangdong have been cut off.In Taiwan, the Central Emergency Operation Center said a total of 3,075 people from 36 townships in seven counties have been evacuated from their homes, with 1,043 people settled at temporary shelters, due to the strong winds and heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Usagi.
