Earthquakes Hit Gulf of California

A pair of earthquakes, with magnitudes of 6.9 and 6.2, struck Mexico’s Gulf of California early Thursday, April 12. The quakes, both with shallow epicenters just over 6 miles underground, were centered about 85 miles northeast of Guerrero Negro in the Mexican state and 325 miles south‐southwest of Phoenix in the United States. The tremblers triggered no tsunami warnings; and no immediate damages were reported either.
