Flood

Floods, caused by intense rainfall have affected more than 66,000 people (16,500 households) in 67 subdistricts in 16 districts in Thailand’s most southern provinces, Narathiwat and Yala. Some roads and railway lines were forced to close. At least 12 heavily inundated schools were closed.
The Thai Meteorological Department predicted that the northeast monsoon would affect the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region with strong winds. At least seven boats sunk in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea since 22 December 2023. Authorities warned people in the southern provinces to be ready to evacuate if the flooding situation gets worse.
