Earthquake Shook Indonesia, Followed by a Tsunami

In October, 2010, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Mentawai Islands near Sumatra, triggering a severe tsunami. About 74 thousand residents were evacuated while rescuers came in search of victims. However, the devastating crisis still caused casualties over 600 and more than 280 missing.
